REMEDIATION IN MATH PLUS HONORS
PLEASE READ THESE GENERAL REMEDIATION DIRECTIONS BEFORE SCROLLING TO THE CORRECT UNIT.
Any student can remediate, as long as their grade is less than 100. Remediation is on a unit by unit basis. Students will need to complete test corrections as one component of the remediation. Test corrections alone do not change a test grade (but they will get you student engagement and a better understanding of the material).
The second component is completing videos/practice/lessons as described below under the corresponding unit that is being remediated. Both components are due by the next test day in order to be considered. The process starts over for the next unit if you plan to try remediation again.
If the next test is higher than the test that was being remediated, I will average the two test grades together and replace the remediated test grade with that average. If it is not higher, the grade is not affected for the remediated unit. However, the videos/practice/lessons you did were still good help and practice for you- so it's not all for nothing :)
Example 1
Take Unit 1 Test --> Unit 1 Test Grade: 85 --> Complete Remediation Components by Unit 2 Test
Take Unit 2 Test --> Unit 2 Test Grade: 95 --> Average 85 and 95 = 90, so now Unit 1 Test Grade is a 90!
Example 2
Take Unit 1 Test --> Unit 1 Test Grade: 85 --> Complete Remediation Components by Unit 2 Test
Take Unit 2 Test --> Unit 2 Test Grade: 80 --> Average 85 and 80 = 82.5, which is lower than what Unit 1 was to begin with, so no grades change at this point. If you'd like to remediate Unit 2, the process starts over and remediation is due by the Unit 3 test date.

UNIT 1 REMEDIATION:
*Unit 1 Remediation is now complete.* You may still access the links below for extra practice.
Unit 1 Remediation can be found at the following links. In order to receive credit for this component of remediation, you must go through each video and write down all notes/examples from the videos. You must also complete and show work for each problem in the "practice" sections of the links. For this unit, you will be turning in your notes and work (along with test corrections). Complete each video and practice module for the two links below:
Points, Lines, Planes, and Space
Segments and Angles

UNIT 2 REMEDIATION:
Unit 2 Remediation will use gradpoint. Follow these directions to see which gradpoint lessons you must complete. I will be able to see which lessons have been completed, and your score, when I look in teacher mode.
1. Login using "firstname.lastname@pchs" and your student number as your password.
2. Click NC Math 1 and use the list on the left side to click on "5: Linear Equations and Graphs". Complete the 11 modules (these modules are a mix of lessons, practice, quizzes, and a test).
3. Next, move on to NC Math 1 and click the "6: Systems of Equations". Complete the 5 modules (these modules are a mix of lessons, practice, quizzes, and a test).
4. Last, go back to the HOME SCREEN. Click NC Math 2 this time, and click "5: Systems of Equations". Complete the 5 modules (these modules are a mix of lessons, practice, quizzes, and a test). These modules will be slightly harder than the modules found in NC Math 1.
5. Complete your Unit 2 test corrections. You will turn in your test corrections, and I will check your gradpoint by 10/23 in order to be eligible for remediation. Test corrections alone will not affect your grade (but will get you some student engagement and a better understanding of the material).
